The 26th annual Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Exposure Camp concluded Tuesday at Viterbo University in La Crosse.
Following are some end-of-the-camp news and notes.
A total of 140 players at the WBY Camp were divided into 14 different teams.
Following are the Most Valuable Players for each of the teams at camp:
Mack Sebert, 6-5, G/F, Jr., Fond du Lac
One of the surprise performers at the WBY Camp, Sebert showed the ability to attack the basket, play with his back to the hoop and overpower defenders with his physical strength and strength, and also knocked down some perimeter shots. An honorable mention all-league pick in the Fox Valley Association as a sophomore, Sebert most definitely will be a key building block for new Fond du Lac coach Nick Ford over the next two seasons.
Ryan Genrich, 6-0, PG, Sr., Mukwonago
A physical, in-your-face defender who also loves to be aggressive on offense, Genrich did an excellent job of putting pressure on the opponent with his ability to get around defenders and get into the lane and either score or distribute. A good student who earned honorable mention all-league honors in the Classic Eight Conference as a junior, Genrich is one of the top backcourt players in the highly competitive league.
Jasin Sinani, 6-2, G, Soph., Oak Creek
Sinani loves to use his physical strength to overpower opponents on drives to the basket. He can finish through contact, possesses good quickness and can deliver timely kick-out passes to open shooters off his penetration to the basket. One of the state's top class of 2021 prospects, Sinani has the looks of a scholarship player down the road.
Adam Hobson, 6-4, WG, Sr., Stoughton
Without question one of the more discussed prospects at the WBY Camp by the collegiate coaches in attendance, Hobson turned in a solid overall performance at Viterbo. He showed the ability to stretch defenses with his three-point shooting accuracy while also facilitating off the bounce. He can score from mid-range while also playing strong defense. A solid player in all facets who averaged 16.8 ppg as a junior, Hobson is one of the premier returning players in the always-competitive Badger South Conference.
Carter Lancaster, 6-3, G, Jr., Darlington
A highly competitive wing prospect who has an extra gear when attacking the basket, Lancaster had no trouble getting by defenders and scoring at the rim. He also rebounded at a high level, defended with purpose and was generally one of the top players at the camp. A first-team all-Southwest Wisconsin Activities League performer as a sophomore, Lancaster is a winner who is willing to do the little things needed to help his team win.
Cade Hall, 6-4, WG, Sr., Mauston
The returning Player of the Year in the South Central Conference, Hall has outstanding length and size for a wing guard. He was able to consistently knock down perimeter shots, did an excellent job of cutting to the basket, and is a solid defender. A very good student with an older brother, Tarren, who plays at NCAA Division III Carroll University, Cade Hall figures to be one of the more highly recruited players in his area in 2019-20.
Alex Baackes, 6-3, F, Sr., New Holstein
If an all-state team existed for hustle and all-out effort, Baackes would be a first-team selection. He simply gives it his all each time he steps onto the floor. Baackes sets a ton of screens, rebounds on both ends, and can score off moves to the hoop from the high post. As a junior, Baackes averaged 7.3 points and 5.1 rebounds for New Holstein.
Isaiah Stewart, 6-0, G, Sr., Madison La Follette
One of the more improved players in Wisconsin in the 2020 class, Stewart is a smooth combination guard who can knock down three-point shots, get into the lane and finish through contact, and pass the ball to open teammates. Stewart also can move well laterally so he has developed into a very solid defender. A very good student who is an excellent teammate, Stewart is one of the top returning players in the Big Eight Conference.
Tanner Resch, 6-0, G, Jr., Sussex Hamilton
A smart, competitive guard who moves well and can attack the basket, Resch is a two-year varsity performer at Sussex Hamilton. He owns one of the more accurate deep shooting touches in Wisconsin, but he is more than just a shooter. He also is a take-no-prisoner defender who figures to play a prominent role for a team many expect to contend for the WIAA Division 1 state title over the next two seasons.
Gunnar Tebon, 6-1, G, Sr., Sturgeon Bay
A highly productive backcourt player who made perimeter shots and also attacked the hoop at Viterbo, Tebon averaged 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds as a junior for coach Jim Benesh at Sturgeon Bay. One of the more pleasant surprises at camp, Tebon played at a consistent level for his team and competed with energy and urgency.
Ben Probst, 6-1, WG, Sr., Madison La Follette
A four-year varsity performer at Madison La Follette, Probst is an improved all-around player. Known as primarily a shooter in his younger days at La Follette, Probst now can also attack the hoop off the dribble thanks to his increased physical strength, confidence and improved quickness. Also the quarterback on the La Follette football team, Probst is a very strong student who figures to be a highly coveted recruit in the Big Eight Conference in 2019-20.
Brady Olson, 6-0, PG, Sr., Cuba City
One of the absolute best passers in the entire state of Wisconsin, Olson delivered one dime after another at the WBY Camp. His ability to look ahead and throw pinpoint passes to open teammates filling the lanes in transition was impressive, but he was also a tremendous assist-man in the half-court setting. Olson is a capable shooter, a very good team leader and a vocal player on both ends of the court. The returning first-team all-SWAL performer is poised for a big season for veteran coach Jerry Petitgoue and the Cubans of Cuba City.
Clarke Mouw, 6-5, G/F, Sr., Marathon
A smooth wing prospect who can jump over defenders in the lane to score off drives, Mouw also is a solid perimeter shooter. He has a long, basketball build and once he adds some more weight and strength, Mouw is going to be a handful to deal with because of his versatility and skill. Mouw earned second-team all-league honors in the Marawood South Conference as a junior for coach Adam Jacobson and the Red Raiders.
Isaiah Loersch, 6-6, F, Jr., Onalaska Luther
Perhaps the most improved player at the WBY Camp, Loersch was impressive on aggressive drives to the basket. He was able to finish at a high level while also using his length, size and hustle to alter shots and rebound at a high level. An honorable mention all-league pick in the Coulee Conference as a sophomore, Loersch has a very bright future as he continues to mature and gain strength.
