Your official guide to the 11th annual Rick Majerus Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout, scheduled for December 28-29-30 at Concordia University in Mequon:

Five Things To Watch …

1. Stevens Point vs. Germantown – The rematch of last year's WIAA Division 1 title game won by Stevens Point, 67-51, is set for Wednesday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m. Stevens Point is unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. The Panthers feature three NCAA Division I recruits in senior forward Sam Hauser (Marquette), senior point guard Trev Anderson (Green Bay) and sophomore forward Joey Hauser (offers from Marquette and Wisconsin, among others). Stevens Point just might be the best three-point shooting team in the history of high school basketball in Wisconsin as both Hausers, Anderson and senior Jamison Kryshak all are outstanding long-ranger snipers for coach Scott Anderson. Stevens Point is a very good defensive team and figures to make things difficult for Germantown, which won the WIAA Division 1 title in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The Warhawks are led by Northern Iowa recruit Juwan McCloud, a 6-foot-0 point guard who can score and distribute. Germantown coach Mark Adams will need strong performances from McCloud, seniors Max Keefe (6-6) and Connor Edmonds (6-5) along with junior Kyle Clow (6-3) in order to upset the Panthers. Germantown is 7-1 after sustaining a non-league loss at Arrowhead.

2. Jordan McCabe vs. Te'jon Lucas – Certainly, the match-up on Monday at 7:30 p.m. between Kaukauna and Milwaukee Washington, two of the state's premier Division 2 programs, will be much more than Jordan McCabe versus Te'jon Lucas. But fans will be treated to two of the top point guards in Wisconsin going head-to-head while hoping to lead their respective teams to a victory. McCabe, a 5-foot-11 sophomore ball-handling whiz and scoring sensation (22 ppg) from Kaukauna, has the Ghosts unbeaten and ranked No. 1 among Division 2 teams in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. He already owns Division I scholarship offers from De Paul, Missouri and West Virginia, among others, and often plays his best on the big stage. Lucas, a 6-1 senior point guard for Washington, signed with Illinois last month and is capable of scoring at a very high level while also defending well and vocally leading his young but very talented squad. Kaukauna junior Adam Smith (6-2) and Washington freshman Deontay Long (6-4) are both stellar players in their own right and figure to also have a major impact on this marquee game.

3. Four top-ranked teams – Top-ranked teams in Division 1 (Stevens Point), Division 2 (Kaukauna), Division 4 (Dominican) and Division 5 (McDonell Central) will put their lofty rankings on the line at Concordia. Stevens Point plays second-ranked Germantown, Kaukauna plays sixth-ranked Milwaukee Washington along with Homestead, Dominican plays Kettle Moraine Lutheran and Wisconsin Lutheran, and McDonell Central plays unbeaten Prairie du Chien along with Living Word Lutheran. All four of the top-ranked squads boast plenty of collegiate prospects and are among the favorites in their respective divisions to hoist the Gold Ball at the Kohl Center in March.

4. Scoring Sensations – Six players who are averaging at least 23.8 points per game will compete in the event and all six are more than capable of netting 30 or more points on a given night. Brookfield Academy's Ryan Clarey (29.2 ppg), Stevens Point's Trev Anderson (26.8 ppg), Germantown's Juwan McCloud (24.9 ppg), Ripon's Bennett Vander Plas (24.6 ppg), Greendale's David Pulzos (24.0 ppg) and Milwaukee Riverside's Terrence Lewis (23.8 ppg) are all off to terrific starts for their respective teams and rank among the top scorers in the state.

5. Unbeaten Teams – Stevens Point (6-0), Kaukauna (5-0), McDonell Central (7-0), Prairie du Chien (6-0) and West Allis Hale (6-0) have a combined 30-0 record through games of December 23. Those five teams figure to have their unblemished marks put to the test during the WBY Shootout as each faces stiff competition. One team for sure will leave Concordia with its first loss at Prairie du Chien and McDonell Central are set to play at 10:30 a.m. on December 30.

15 Players (Plus 1) To Watch …

Trev Anderson, 6-2, Sr., Stevens Point
-- Tough-minded and skilled point guard who has started from Day One for his father, Scott, at Stevens Point. The Green Bay recruit can score with the best of them, but his best attribute just might be his intense desire to win. He backs down from no one and is best described as a big-time winner.

Kostas Antetokounmpo, 6-9, Sr., Dominican -- Oozing with potential, Antetokounmpo is long, athletic and raw. The younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas makes several 'wow' plays during the course of a game, whether it be an awesome blocked shot or a dunk in traffic. But he needs to add strength and weight to his frame while also developing consistency to his game.

Ryan Clarey, 6-1, Sr., Brookfield Academy -- The UW-Whitewater recruit is averaging nearly 30 points and 8 steals per game while playing for his father, Pat, at Brookfield Academy. He can play either guard position and can score off the dribble, from deep and at the foul line.

John Diener, 6-4, Soph., Cedarburg -- The son of Cedarburg coach Tom Diener, John Diener can hurt opponents in a variety of ways. He can certainly score -- both from deep and off the bounce -- but he can also defend multiple positions while finding teammates with his solid court vision.

George Dixon, 6-5, Jr., Milwaukee Riverside -- Physical, tough and consistent, Dixon is a defensive demon who can guard on the perimeter or in the post. He rebounds at a high level on both ends of the court and is developing his offensive skills to match his defensive prowess.

Jai'vionne Green, 6-4, Sr., Wauwatosa East -- A tremendous athlete with developing basketball skills, Green averaged 15.8 points and 8.0 rebounds through the first five games of the season. He has good size for a wing guard and he can make mid-range jump shots in addition to finishing above the rim off drives to the hoop.

Joey Hauser, 6-7, Soph., Stevens Point -- The state's top-ranked class of 2018 prospect, Hauser possesses an impressive blend of size, skill and strength. He can make three-point shots or go inside and play with his back to the basket. His strength and versatility are difficult to opponents to match. Hauser already owns offers from both Marquette and Wisconsin.

Sam Hauser, 6-6, Sr., Stevens Point -- Skilled, smart and cerebral, Hauser does whatever is needed for his team to win. He ranks among the best three-point shooters to ever come out of Wisconsin, but he is even better at making smart decisions on the court. An under-rated athlete who has committed to Marquette, Hauser is simply a joy to watch because of his high basketball IQ and incredible skill level.

Max Keefe, 6-6, Sr., Germantown -- Versatile forward who can play near the basket and use his length and size to score in the lane or step outside and make perimeter jump shots. Keefe, who committed to NCAA Division II Concordia-St. Paul, is a three-year letter winner for the Warhawks.

Terrence Lewis, 6-5, Jr., Milwaukee Riverside -- In the open court, opponents have little chance to slow down Lewis, who does an excellent job of filling the lane on the fastbreak and finishing at the rim. A long, athletic player who is receiving strong Division I recruiting interest from many high-major programs, Lewis scores in bunches and is a major reason Riverside is expected to challenge Milwaukee King and Milwaukee Washington in the Milwaukee City Conference this winter.

Luke Loewe, 6-2, Jr., Ripon -- A skilled and strong lead guard who is coming off a foot injury, Loewe is a player who can score and distribute. His perimeter shot has improved dramatically and his ability to get into the lane and draw fouls is a major strength.

Te'jon Lucas, 6-1, Sr., Milwaukee Washington -- Lucas was named Player of the Year in the Eastern Division of the Woodland Conference as a sophomore while attending Shorewood. He was a second-team all-City Conference player as a junior at Washington, but then turned in a very strong spring/summer on the club circuit, earning scholarship offers from several nigh-major programs. He signed with Illinois in November and is a scoring lead guard who puts extreme pressure on opposing defenses with his ability to attack the basket.

Jordan McCabe, 5-11, Soph., Kaukauna -- A magician with the ball in his hands, McCabe is as good a ball handler as this state has seen in years. He has the ball on a string and keeps opponents on their heels with his ability to change directions on a dime. He is a very good perimeter shooter who can also set up his teammates with his solid passing skills. One of the state's top class of 2018 prospects who is receiving interest from many high-major programs, including De Paul, Missouri, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Xavier, among others.

Juwan McCloud, 6-0, Sr., Germantown -- The Northern Iowa recruit has been a mainstay in the Germantown lineup and is the unquestioned leader for coach Mark Adams and the Warhawks. McCloud can score and shoot, but he's at his best setting up his teammates with his ability to probe openings with his change-of-pace dribble.

David Pulizos, 6-6, Sr. Greendale -- Physically strong and athletic combination forward who excels inside and also away from the basket, Pulizos is one of the top unsigned class of 2016 players in Wisconsin. He runs the floor, can defend and can really get on a roll beyond the three-point arc.

Bennett Vander Plas, 6-7, Jr., Ripon -- The son of Ripon coach, Dean Vander Plas, a former standout in his own right at Oostburg and UW-Green Bay, Bennett Vander Plas is a scoring forward who can face up from the outside and make perimeter shots while also crashing the boards for putbacks. A Division I prospect with size and skill.
